FOOD KIOSK - CONCEPT
During the break between the movie , the food kiosks at the adlabs movie hall were conceptualized to be an extension of the entertainment . A feel of carnival with buzzling activities and food for those minutes before you are back into the movie hall. The kiosk was designed as a plug in system so that at a later stage this can be independant from adlabs and become a part of a public space as an entertainment kiosk.
MY INTERPRETATION
The song talks about the people who has passion for something in life , their courage to have picked up the broken pieces of their life to put together a new beginning through positive thinking.
The song is visualised as this lone kathakali artist and his struggle to come up in life with the passion he holds for the art form. So is the case of a lot of Kathakali artists in Kerala in the present as this beautiful art form doesnt hold the value as it used to during the age of the kings and the palace. The idea was to take this message accross the world through their music and the video. To listen to their music log on to www.motherjane.in
The red silk fabric in tension is a metaphor for the struggle put up by the artist with life and for his art form. Fabric is the same screen which is used at the beginning of the performance thus making the connect. The wooden staircase is another metaphor for the different stages of his life.
Light at the end of the stairs from the oil lamp is a symbol of hope and positive energy. According to the traditional beliefs a burnt out oil lamp is a bad omen. At the end the artist chooses to take colours from around him -red from the fabric and the black from the soot of the burnt out lamp to wear his make up and he is ready to give his best performance.

The music album was a compilation by various artistes from India and their expression towards the present situation in the world - urbanism, capitalism, communal riot, wars . This was a graphical representation of these aspects on the cd cover book.
VANANJALI BROCHURE
Art direction and concept for brochure design for an NGO which was involved in planting saplings on barren hills and valleys of chitradurga in south of India. The saplings will be plants that will help generate bio-fuels.
